Major Announcement
Halftime is merging with Faith Driven Movements
For the past two decades, these words have long guided us both personally and professionally as we pursue God’s call for us in how we feel called to serve in the ministry of Faith Driven.
United by a common language and DNA across 100+ countries, the impact of the movement is visible for all to see and it’s also working behind the scenes in hundreds of ministries and thousands of churches around the world.
It is with that shared mindset, we’re thrilled to announce that Halftime is joining forces with Faith Driven Entrepreneur and Investor to foster greater impact and innovation in the movement. Started in 1995 by Bob Buford, a Texas entrepreneur and investor, the Halftime team has been deeply committed to helping thousands of leaders “Get Clear. Get Free. Get Going.”
This process has been transformational for countless individuals. We look forward to bringing that into the work of Faith Driven with a desire to propel each of us to deeper impact. In the next 12 months, this joining of forces will lead to new experiences (FDE+ and FDI+) designed to help high-capacity leaders discover the problem they were made to solve in the world and build a plan to get going.
In addition to integrating into the Faith Driven Ministries, we look forward to continuing the Halftime programs and inviting their alumni to participate in this vibrant community. Our team has put together this short video to share the things we’re most excited about.
As always, we’re grateful for the opportunity to partner together on this journey.
FAQs
1. Why now? What makes this the best time to merge?
We believe this is a God-ordained opportunity that has been developing for years. The roots of Faith Driven and Halftime both lead back to the legacy of Bob Buford. He greatly influenced the development and mindsets of the leaders of both ministries.
Bob had a vision that “Our fruit grows on other people’s trees.” For over twenty-five years Halftime has helped high-capacity leaders get clear on how God made them, get free from what is holding them back from the life they want to lead, and get going in the mission God has given them.
Faith Driven has exploded as a movement in the last five years pursuing a similar goa: to equip and inspire entrepreneurial leaders to greater service, and to a call beyond success. Since its launch, Faith Driven has engaged over a hundred thousand leaders throughout the world, inspiring them and providing on-ramps to sustained community and impact investing.
Halftime has a proven track record of working through deep, personal transformation. The combined ministry brings together Faith Driven’s broad reach and community with Halftime’s deep and transformative power to create a force for Kingdom impact.
2. How does the merger impact Halftime’s programs?
This merger will provide Halftime the ability to reach and serve more people than ever before. When Halftime started it was a true movement propelled by Bob Buford’s vision and generosity. This merger helps us recapture that spirit by joining forces with what we believe is one of today’s God-ordained movements with Faith Driven. Halftime will not only continue to serve its current clients with current offerings, but anticipates creating new offerings for expanded reach. We will serve them not only in set programs, but also through high impact workshops, and on-going community.
3. How will Halftime operate within Faith Driven Entrepreneur and Investor?
We’re excited to develop an operating model that allows Halftime to be both distinct and integrated. This means we’ll continue to build upon Halftime’s twenty-plus year brand while integrating deeply into both Faith Driven Entrepreneur and Faith Driven Investor. We anticipate increased scale for all ministries as we leverage our vast alumni base and customize our content to help reach the next generation of God-inspired world changers.
4. How does this impact Halftime’s coaches, global hub leaders, and partners?
The combined ministry will provide greater opportunity for our coaches and global leaders than ever before. Not just in serving more, but also in developing new ways to engage and support our clients through programs, content, and community.
5. What impact does this merger have on Halftime’s economic model?
For many years, Halftime was completely funded by Bob Buford. This allowed us to serve the needs of our clients without the constraining requirement for revenue. Henry Kaestner and a collection of partners committed to fund Faith Driven to create much the same opportunity to go where God is leading. This made it possible to serve not just high-powered leader investors, but also developing entrepreneurs, global emerging market leaders, and the next generation of world-changers. As we jointly develop our long-term strategy, we see the establishment of a mixed model of sustainability to cover direct program costs and increased donations to allow us to serve well beyond our current capacity.
6. What impact does the merger have on Halftime’s CEO search?
Halftime has put the CEO search on hold. This opportunity was triggered by the search, and we worked to evaluate it as quickly as possible to honor those who were being considered for the CEO role. This clearly changes the organizational needs of Halftime that were not foreseen when the search was started. Due to the larger opportunity for global impact, Jim and Tom have agreed to stay involved with the overall organization to shepherd the integration and to make sure that the inspired vision we see for the combined ministry comes to life.
7. What will become of Thousandfold, the global impact community?
Both Faith Driven and Halftime have been in the process of creating online communities for global impact. Halftime launched Thousandfold, a platform to access content and create communities of passion and interest. For years, Faith Driven has been building towards the launch of Solving the World’s Greatest Problems, a new initiative of content, community, and connecting people to get involved. The intent of both ministries is to equip and connect leaders of faith to impact an ever-darkening world. As the organizations merge, we also see a combining of these efforts to create a world-class platform for global impact.
8. What will be the name of the combined entity and what will the governance structure be?
Both entities are 501c3 non-profits registered in the State of Texas. In the coming months, entities will be merged under Faith Driven Movements, LLC. This merger creates a larger combined ministry that will lead to a growing Board of Advisors and Board of Governance in the coming months and years. We are jointly exploring the best options to create not just the proper fiduciary and legal governance, but also the best strategic and visionary support for the future. The leadership of FDM and Halftime’s Board of Directors will oversee the integration.
